The GAFF FI (Furnace inspection) team is aware of the problems of high-temperature work, long-lasting inefficiency, limited access, and visibility in the process of furnace inspection through conventional endoscope equipment under a harsh environment.

These led to the recognition that the poorness of furnace inspection and the disconnection of data utilization did not serve the purpose of the unique furnace inspection.

The GAFF FI team has specialized in a series of years of equipment design, equipment development, and testing to address these issues. In the process, we set up the commercialization with a differentiated Furnace visual inspection management system, and domestic patent (HotVR ®) and PCT registration were in progress.

We will grow into a company that constantly challenges and strives to contribute to the glass and steel industries with its unique technology.

The furnace visual inspection management system is significant in that it provides crucial data for decision-making for furnace management.

  • You can check the degree of structural deformation and erosion,
  • You can see where it’s happening
  • You can check the speed of progress for deformation and erosion.

The data can serve as crucial data for decision-making action and judging the action result by comparing the status before and after the action.

<Cold VR: Furnace visual inspection at cold stage>

  • After the end of the life, Cold VR could make the data of the erosion and deformation of the Furnace refractory, which serves as technical data that is useful for various purposes. Any person who has not visited has the same effect as seeing the real thing.
  • It provides a role as technical data comparing the degree of refractory erosion by parts between the furnaces, so it is possible to utilize the data different from the conventional method.

<Differentiation>

  • Limited vision -> Sphere 360-degree full view(Virtual reality technology introduction)

When using a Conventional portable endoscope to check the erosion and deformation inside the furnace, spherical 360-degree shooting is impossible, so only the part of interest is taken. The result shows the erosion degree and deformation only with some pictures or videos.

With HotVR ® Scope, you could visually check the furnace’s internal parts in spherical 360 degrees without blind spots and thoroughly observe the degree of internal erosion and structural deformation.

The use of a relatively high resolution allows for clear inspection.

  •  Typical document report -> Computer program system with database

When using a conventional endoscope, most of the specific documents are created and shared. While you accumulate all the results using the HotVR ® Scope in the database, you could make the selection, comparison, and zoom-in-out of all parts freely through the computer program.  The efficiency is extremely high.

  •  Long time working at high temperature -> Reduced work time

When using a conventional endoscope, it takes a lot of time to change at least three kinds of angle lenses at one point and inspect the inside, while using the HotVR ® Scope, one shot can be taken within one minute, saving time. Of course, by significantly reducing the high-temperature exposure time, there is an effect that significantly reduces the risk of high-temperature work and dramatically reduces production mal conditions.
